How to wear a Kimono?
Wearing a kimono can be a little challenging—even for Japanese people. You need to know HOW TO dress in Kimono properly. Once you get the basic kimono dressing, you can styling anyway from casual to formal, and more creative ways, too.
Women’s Kimono Dressing Workshop for Beginners

This workshop introduces you to the basics of wearing a kimono,
including:
• An introduction to kimono and its accessories
• How to wear a casual kimono
• How to properly fold and store a kimono
• Basic tips and techniques for kimono dressing
Please note that learning to dress yourself in a kimono well enough to go out and keep it properly in place throughout the day takes time and practice. It is not unusual for it to take several months, or even a year or more, to become comfortable dressing yourself and keeping your kimono properly in place.
Free kimono rentals are available for the workshop. If you have your own kimono and accessories, we recommend bringing them for practice.
